  1. Dude – this is the most helpful, inspiring 15 minutes regarding missional communities I’ve seen. Fantastic videography, of course, the vision that leaks through the whole thing, and just practically getting a look at what a missional community is and does – all just very helpful.

Killed it, Jeff. Super helpful. The part where you shared your heart for the lost was the most important thing for me to see and be inspired by. Right practice without the right motivation is deadly.

What a beautiful picture of the life of a church, flourishing within a neighborhood. I dream and pray of one day having something like that in our neighborhood.

I was encouraged by the one comment (paraphrasing now) that we should not be Christians that do what we feel our duty is and then wash our hands, but we should be actively pursuing the people in our midst.

Imagine the lost sheep scattered in the hillside (Eze 34:5-6). Going to the lost sheep and telling them the good news without gathering them in is akin to going to lost sheep on a hillside and telling them which way to go without leading them there, without providing them food, and without protecting them from the wolves. But good shepherds go along the hillside leading and gathering the lost sheep, feeding and protecting the lost sheep to safety within the sheepfold.

Praise God for Jesus our Good Shepherd and may God raise up more good undershepherds like we see in this video, who seek, gather, feed, and protect the lost sheep. Amen!

Praise God for Soma! Seeing this before going to work today, makes me excited to go share Jesus with my friends at work! May God break my heart for the lost with the same intensity that He has broken yours, Jeff.

Easily the best fifteen minutes I’ve spent watching a video (of any kind) in recent memory. I’ve watched it more times than I can count, I’m reminded of the power of image and story, and we’ve watched it as a church several times in varying contexts. Putting this in front of people is far more moving and effective than me talking (about the same things) for half an hour.

  6. We are so thankful for the Verge team, D Thompson, and Jeremy Rodgers for his great video work. This has been a blessing to many people and we are humbled that God has encouraged the church through our story.
